Artist Statement

I am a New Orleans-based visual artist who prioritizes the authenticity of the moment that inspired the image, using minimal manipulation—whether through traditional darkroom techniques or digital production—to preserve its original essence. Acknowledging the human tendency to interpret, categorize, and assign meaning to visual information, I developed an artistic ethos, before the rise of social media, to intentionally limit shaping or directing the viewer's interpretation of my art. I have reaffirmed this approach in the current state of constant curation that has inexplicitly increased since the explosion of the digital age. I find joy and freedom by offering imagery that invites viewers to navigate it through the lens of their own lived experiences.

Photographic Projects

Colorful Abstraction Series: A conceptual based exploration of color and form yielding painterly, abstract photographic images. Using a multi-step process and in-camera manipulation only (no digital manipulation or AI) I create an alternate reality. The only evidence of this manufactured universe are the images I create, offering the viewer an opportunity to challenge their perception of reality.

Light, Line & Form Series: A study capturing the interplay between light, line, and shapes in the physical world around us. Using the dynamic relationship between these visual elements as a guide for subject matter.

Sunday Strolls: Images captured through the informal act of strolling through a location and using what sparks joy or curiosity to guide the decision of what is worthy of being captured.

Photo Stories: This natural light portrait series takes an improvisational approach to capturing the mood and movement of the model. From these spontaneous moments, a fictional narrative emerges for me to explore.
